How tight should Versa Gripps fit around my wrists?
Versa Gripps are ergonomically designed to fit snug, but not tight, around your wrists.
Do I need to remove Versa Gripps in between sets?
No. Simply turn the Versa Gripps to the back of your hand when you want to get a drink or talk to your friends. Then when you are ready, turn the Versa Gripps back and move on to your next pushing/pulling exercise. It is not necessary to remove Versa Gripps from your hand until you are completely finished with your workout.
How do Versa Gripps compare to conventional straps?
Unlike conventional straps, Versa Gripps are ergonomically designed to be funnel shaped so the weight rests on the base of your hand rather than your wrist. Conventional straps can cause nerve damage, vestibular damage, and/or carpel tunnel problems by pulling and putting pressure on your wrists. In addition, Versa Gripps patented self-supporting grip assist stands up in front of your hand so anytime you do any pulling exercise, especially over your head, Versa Gripps are right at your fingertips giving you the control to wrap both Versa Gripps around the bar simultaneously. Our patented technology designed Versa Gripps to solve these issues. Versa Gripps patented technology is the only product of its kind to offer one-hand grip and release movement.
What style should I buy?
This depends upon your size, how you workout and your personal preferences.
The FIT Series is designed to meet the needs of a smaller built person. The gripping portion is made of a unique "no slip" custom engineered material made exclusively for Power Gripps USA. This is the same material used on the Pro Series as well. This material is hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. Designed for an ultra-sleek fit, the Fit Gripps have been scaled down to a more user-friendly size for a smaller hand. The strap around the wrist is 1" wide as opposed to the Classic or Pro Series wrist strap which measured 1 ½" wide. The narrower strap allows for greater wrist flexibility. Excellent choice for frequent lifting and all around training for that sculpted and toned look.
The Classic Series is a good overall product. The wrist strap is 1 ½" wide and the gripping portion is longer than the Fit Grip and a bit shorter than the Pro Series. The gripping portion, the section that wraps around the bar, is textured and slightly thicker than the Fit and Pro Series. Excellent choice for frequent lifting and all around training.
The Pro Series is our top of the line product. The gripping portion is made of a unique "no-slip" custom engineered material made exclusively for Power Gripps USA. This material is very grippy as well as being hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. It is extra reinforced strong and the gripping portion is a bit longer than the Classic Style for added security. Excellent choice for the serious lifter.
What is the gripping material made of?

The Pro Series and Fit Series material is made of a unique "no-slip" custom engineered material made exclusively to Versa Gripps. How are the Versa Gripps used?
Versa Gripps should be used for any pushing or pulling exercise. They outperform gloves, straps, hooks, and wrist supports. When performing a pushing exercise such as a bench press or any other press, the gripping portion lays against the palm of your hand, thus protecting the palm of the hand from the weightlifting bar as well as eliminating the risk of calluses.
For pulling exercises, Versa Gripps completely eliminate grip fatigue and grip failure while providing excellent grip strength. When performing a pulling exercise, such as a chin-up, dead lift, or lat pull down, the bar is located between the palm of the hand and the gripping portion. By using the tips of the fingers on the same hand, fold the thicker end of the gripping portion over the bar and between the bar and the palm of your hand (wrap both hands simultaneously). Grasp the weightlifting bar in the same manner that you would without the Versa Gripps. This is a very quick and easy operation, allowing you to hold on to the weight with minimal grip strength. Thus allowing the mind-muscle connection to achieve full concentration on those larger muscles being developed.
I have heard that using conventional lifting straps can damage my wrists? Is this true?
Yes, using conventional straps can cause extensive damage to the wrists, such as nerve damage, carpel tunnel and vestibular damage to your wrists. Unlike conventional straps, Versa Gripps are ergonomically designed to be funnel shaped so the weight rests on the base of your hand rather than your wrist.
How far up on my extended hand, should the top of the grip come?
After putting on the Versa Grip, hold your hand up facing you. The top of the gripping portion should land just above the first knuckle of your index and middle finger, from the base of your fingers. If you want it longer, simply loosen the wrist strap slightly, and allow the end of the gripping portion to move toward the tip of your fingers.
Do Versa Gripps offer good wrist support?
Yes!! They offer excellent wrist support especially on pushing exercises. Allow the Versa Gripps wrist strap to rest where your watch would be. Tighten the strap securely around the wrist before beginning the pushing exercise. This will provide excellent wrist support, while at the same time, the palm portion of the Versa Gripps will protect the palm of your hand from the bar.
Are Versa Gripps better than gloves?
Yes! Versa Gripps offer protection like gloves without encasing your hand in an enclosed glove that you must peel off when you are finished working out. They are cooler than gloves, and can be turned to the back of the hand so you have free hand movement.
Do Versa Gripps wrap the same way as lifting straps?
No. The end of the gripping portion is thicker and flexible. For pulling exercises, just going over the bar with the end of the gripping portion, and allowing it to rest between the bar and the palm of the hand, will lock your grip in place. The grip portion does not have to fully wrap around the bar.
How do I release from the bar using the Versa Gripps?
Simply open your hand! This is a valuable safety feature of Versa Gripps that is not available with straps or hooks.
Does one size fit all?
No. The sizes are based on your wrist circumference. The only difference in the sizes is the length of the strap around your wrist. If you order a size that is too big, then the wrist strap will be too long and the Velcro will not adequately align. Please see our size chart.
Is Versa Gripps sold as a pair? Are there a Left and a Right Versa Gripps?
Yes. There is a cut out for your thumb on each grip for the thumb.
What if the weightlifting bar is thick?
Simply loosen the strap up around your wrist and allow the gripping portion to extend toward your fingertips, this allows more of the gripping portion to fold around the weight lifting bar.
